Although
it's located just 16 miles west of the Loop, Western Springs
has a distinct small-town feel. Located near the Cook County
Forest Preserves, the village has stayed true to its past
while embracing the present.
Western
Springs provides facilities for a wide variety of activities.
At the recently completed recreation center, you can work
out in a full-size gym or exercise your mind in the computer
and science room. If you enjoy outdoor activities, the village
operates eight parks, which include baseball diamonds, tennis
courts, soccer fields.
With
some of the most eclectic architecture in Chicagoland, Western
Springs offers home styles to meet every desire. You can
find Victorians, English Tudors, Cape Cods, Colonials, ranches,
and split levels. Single-family home prices range from the
low $200,000 to $1,700,000. The average sales price currently
hovers right around $380,000.
Most of the elementary students in Western Springs attend
district 101l the ramainder attend district 106. Village
teenagers attend Lyons Township High School, which offers
a comprehensive curriculum including special education and
gifted courses.
Western
Springs is well-located. The village has easy access to
the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), the Stevenson (I-55), and
the Eisenhower (I-290). Midway Airport is only 15 minutes
away. Whether by car or express train, getting to the Loop
takes about 30 minutes.
